Diesen in meinem Floristikgebiet relativ häufige Pilz finde ich meistens im Spätherbst am Mitte Oktober bis Mitte Dezember auf morschen Fichtenstrünken und zwischen Gräsern auf im Boden vergrabenen Holz. Er ist variabel in Grösse und die Lamellendichte ist sehr unterschiedlich.
