Summary/source Ellis: Perithecia up to 0.35x0.5 mm, dark grey to black, seated on black velvety mycelial mats, which also bear dark-brown to black setae and branched nodose conidiospores. Ascospores curved, 3-spetate, 32-35 x 6-9 ym, wth brown median cells and hyline end cells (bicolor spores). Conidia similarly couloured burt straight 20-35 x 10-15 ym. Commonly growing over or associated with other fungi such as Diatrype stigma and Eutypa flavovirens on fallen branches of deciduous trees.
