Phlebia vaga ist ein häufiger Rindenpilz, der durch sein gelbes spinnenwebartiges Myzel an morschem Holz auffällt. Das alte Gewebe wird hellbraun, dass neue Gewebe hat an den Enden eine leuchtend schwefelgelbe Farbe. Frisches Gewebe sondert ab- und zu auch eine rote oder gelbe Flüssigkeit aus und man findet Tröpfchen auf frischen Fruchtkörpern.
